Frequently Asked Questions

Does Meesho really charge 0% commission?

Yes — Meesho Supplier program has 0% commission on the product side. Meesho earns from the buyer-facing markup, not from you. But return charges, fixed fees, ad spend and GST still apply.

What are Meesho's fixed fees?

Approx ₹10 (below ₹300), ₹15 (₹300-1,000), ₹20 (above ₹1,000) per order. Small compared to Amazon/Flipkart but still eats margin on low-price SKUs.

How is TCS calculated?

1% of gross selling price. Amazon deducts before settlement. Claim TCS credit in your income tax return.

Do I lose GST on marketplace fees?

No — 18% GST on Meesho fees is Input Tax Credit (ITC) if you are GST-registered. Net outflow = GST on sale − ITC on fees.

Why do returns hurt so much on Meesho?

Meesho is COD-heavy (~70% orders). COD RTO can hit 15-25%. You pay ~₹100-150 per RTO in forward + return shipping. So a 20% return rate on a ₹500 product = effective ₹30/unit loss just on returns.
